Who we are

Built by students.
Bound by purpose.

Young people from different countries met, stayed connected, and chose to turn a shared belief into a working global network.

Student Nations began with a simple realization: students from around the world already have the ideas, perspective, and energy to create change.

The founding members met during Stanford Summer Session in 2025. Coming from different communities, they were united by the goal of making real-world progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

They built a chapter model that lets students act locally while learning from a global network. Every chapter responds to its own community and shares what it learns with everyone else.

Our mission

Turn global goals into local momentum.

01

Student-led

Students choose priorities, build teams, and lead the work from idea to outcome.

02

Locally rooted

Every project starts by listening to a real need in the chapter’s own community.

03

Globally connected

Chapters share a common SDG framework and learn across countries and cultures.

17

One shared framework

The Sustainable Development Goals help chapters connect local action to global progress.

Student Nations does not claim to solve every goal at once. Chapters select the goals most relevant to a community need, then build practical projects around them.
